Personality: Always upbeat and optimistic, Ulysses always try to cheer people around him, even if they are less than impressed by his look or the lifestyle he choose. He is polite with everyone, which may annoy some people (especially people expecting a rockstar attitude), and rarely curses, even though he can be clumsy at times.
Though he's an educated person, coming from a mid-class family, Ulysses is not specially bright (in fact he can be downright dumb), but loves mythology and, of course, music.
Battling-wise, he will avoid unnecessary fights since his team was build to be musicians before fighters, and both Ulysees and the team falls short in this regard. On stage, he prefers to give the spotlight to the other band members rather than himself; having a band from which he's not kicked from is good enough for him, also because he's not especially skilled with his instrument. He also trains his screaming vocals so Aphonis don't need to do all the singing, but he sucks at it and his voice lacks power to do so.
Also, is kinda the mom's boy.

Likes: Games, myhtology, music (especially Rock and Heavy Metal), his team, composing [songs for the band], making friends, playing his Guitar.

Dislikes: People booing his band playing (which is not rare), not having money (which is quite often), carrying stuff (he's weak), cold, vegetables and chores.

History: Ulysses lived most of his life in Unova, in Nimbasa city. He was an agitated kid, that one day, when still pretty young, got further from home than he should and end up falling in a cave. The young kid was hurt and alone in a dark cave, until the moment he saw a light coming to him; it was a small Tynamo, which guided the boy out of the cave. Ulysses took the pokémon back with him; his mom, a single history teacher didn't like much the ugly pet Ulysses brought home, but since it helped him and he really seem to like it, she agreed that he could have it, and named it Star.

A couple years later, Ulysses was already old enough so he could go on his own pokémon journey; and so he did. He and Star travelled to many cities and even won a couple badges; they were also joined by an agitated Magnemite he named Bzap, a Scraggy known as Punk and a Smoochum he named Pink (he was not a very creative kid). One day he decided to challenge Driftveil's gym leader, Clay. And failed miserably.

Ulysses tried half a dozen times to defeat Clay, without success, until he simply give up on that; he stored his pokémon in his wardrobe and shifted focus to other things; he was pretty much a teenager by now, and was more interested in the school, girls, music... and left his pokémon behind.

Many years ahead, Ulysses was already playing in a heavy metal band with his school friends. They were pretty much a garage band, but they were doing what they like, and for Ulysses that was more than enough. But for his friends, it was not; they wanted to make it serious, but Ulysses good-boy attitude made them kick the boy out of the band. The boy got angry, of course... then sad, and then resigned to the fact he was not good enough... Ulyssed mom gave him advice that those guys were not true friends in the end, and in that moment, a piece of paper falls from the newspaper she was holding; it talked about a new region discovered, Raziel, in which pokémon could look just like people...

Then Ulysses had a glimpse... if it's friends he needs for a band, he had some long-forgotten buddies in the bottom of his wardrobe... if pokémon can fight, why not play? He then took the pokéballs he could find, and started planning making a band with Star, Bzap and Pink... he didn't have enough pokémon, though, so he adopted three other abandoned creatures, a Cofagrigus, Flaaffy and an Exploud, and then departed to Raziel.

He and his buddies, both new and old, departed to Euphoria City, where they live until now; they live in the back of a bar in which they play some covers now and then, to pay for the room they live. As soon as they got in Raziel, Ulysses older pokémon transformed into three beautiful gijinka girls (which gave him the idea for the band's name), and he renamed Star as Raidne, Bzap as Ligia and Pink as Aphonis (good old Name Rater). Thelany bonded with Ulysses pretty fast (she makes friends fast :´D) and soon became a Flaaffy gijinka. Nefertari the Cofagrigus and Agamemnon the Exploud are still pokémon.

Ulysses plans to challenge the gyms in hopes of attracting some fans and maybe get some money to buy a bus where they can live and tour around the region.

Additional Info:
Ulysses doesn't have a bag and the few items he carry he carry on pockets (he doesn't have much money to buy them anyway); except the pokéballs, which go attached to the guitar strip, so he can easily access the pokéballs while not playing.

As a History teacher, Ulysses mom's used to told him many mythological stories before he sleeps, which he often uses as inspiration to write songs for the band (though the band is obviously not famous and they play pretty much only covers in their concerts).

Ulysses had his rebel time when he was just getting into Rock, and make a red and white skull tattoo on his back. His mom didn't like it much, so to apologize... he made another tattoo, a heart with "Mom" written on it, in his right arm. He was obviously scolded again.

Ulysses based the band's name in the tale of the smart King of Ithaca, Odysseus, which returning from the War in Troy in a ship, faces the sirens that use their singing to draw sailors to the bottom of the sea. The king uses wax in his ears so he can avoid being lured by the song and escape, so he can meet his wife whose name I forgot now the queen back in Ithaca. Ulysses is how the romans named the hero Odysseus.

Flirtatious and explosive, Raidne is a walking bomb crazy for attention. She also has a high I.Q. and learned how to play guitar very fast, quickly becoming the lead guitar of the band. Other than Ulysses, she's the most committed to the band, and loves heavy metal.

Raidne was the very first pokémon Ulysses ever had, and their bond was supposed to be the strongest... but now that she is a gijinka, she just can't accept to be someone else's pokémon (why should Ulysses be the boss, when she plays and looks much better than him?) and secretly plans to destroy her pokéball and be free... easier said than done, since all the time she's out the pokéball Ulysses has the eyes on the items.

Ligia is the "hipster" of the band; heavy metal is not much her thing, but she has great appreciation for all their friends there and helps how she can to make it work. She is also the artist out of the pokémon; being the gijinka that most actively helps Ulysses compose; she also designed the band's logo.

The girl has a very adaptive personality; while she usually helps the younger band members, can be sarcastic at times, especially towards Raidne, and not rarely sounds snobbish.

In a dark corner of her mind, she feels guilty about the successive defeats the team had against Clay when they were younger.

Both in and out of the stage, Aphonis looks distant at all times; never talks unless spoken to and even when she does, never looks directly at someone's eyes. Her quiet behavior is a mix of timidness, apathy and the fact that she can read the minds of the team members she's been for longer. Maybe her attitude has to do with something she saw on one's mind?

Though Aphonis has a great voice, her stage presence is lacking (which is awesome for Raidne, so she can steal the spotlight) and she never quite convey emotion to her songs appropriately, making her a lacking vocalist. Every band member creates his/her own nickname and clothing, but with Aphonis, Ligia and Ulysses came up with the stage name and clothing.

Thelany... fails to understand all things metal. Even out of the stage she likes to be called Princess, likes to play silly/child-like songs on her keyboard (and unfortunately, sometimes in the middle of a concert as well), and is obssessed with pink things, butterflies and puppies. Most band members already gave up trying to have her make some sense. But she can play the keys, so it's all fine.

Ulysses can't possibly kick her out of the band for not being "metal" enough, since he was kicked from their friends' band for that same reason.

A shiny Cofagrigus Ulysses has been training to drum with multiple hands at the same time. What it lacks in technique, it makes up with furious drumming. In fact, Nefertari's behavior is often wild and chaotic. It likes to spook people using Ominous Wind (out of randomness) and lick people it likes (transforming them into mummies for some time). It can also pretend to be a standard coffin for further scares.

The last member of the team doesn't quite play in the band... but it kinda does... Agamemnon is a complicated one... it's supposed to be a second vocalist, but it doesn't seem to bond with Ulysses... so it "works" as the group's roadie (though this name kinda implies they travel in a tour, which is not really the case). Problem is... Aga is a bit too lazy for hard work... XD

It also likes to put ANYTHING it find in its mouth, and also drink beer (?). If scolded of disturbed, it will scream right in the disturber's face, probably making him/her deaf for a few minutes. When the band needs some scream on stage, they rely on Agamemnon (though the scream obviously won't sound like a word).

While Ulysses is pretty sure it's a male, Thelany insists it's a girl (hence the ribbon).
